# Fact 1

Qutub Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage site, located in Delhi. 

# Fact 2

Its construction was completed by Iltutmish. It was built in the memory of Qutub-ud-din Aibak or 
Khwaja Qutub-ud-din bakhtiyar kaki.

Qutub Minar is in Qutub complex, which contain other famous historical monuments.

Qutub Minar is standing tall at 73 metre high, with 379 steps to reach the top floor.

The diameter of base of Qutub Minar is 47 feet, which reduces to 9 feet on top floor.

The construction of Qutub Minar is done in in three stages.

The top two floors of Qutub Minar are different from rest of the minaret, as these were built later by Firoz Shah tughlaq.

once tried to add few more stories to the Qutub Minar but he did not succeeded.

Qutub Minar is the first Indian monument to have e ticket facility currently the ticket prices 35 for Indians and 550 for foreigners.

Before 1974, the general public was allowed to go to the top of the minar. 
On 4th December 1981, 45 people were killed in a stampede that caused due to an electricity failure that plunged the tower's staircase into darkness. 
Consequently, public access to the inside of the tower has been banned.
